Sample of the month
Jesmonite is a composite material made of a gypsum-based material and acrylic resin. It is very versatile and is used in fine arts, crafts, and construction. It is often used for creating sculptures and other three-dimensional works. It is a lightweight alternative to cast concrete and can be used for casting fine decorative moulds and laminating.
Jesmonite and other materials can be found in the Samples Library housed in our Materials Room in the Basement of the Library.
